Satellite Connectivity

With an inventory of over 40 teleport antennas and transponder capacity from the leading satellite operators, such as INTELSAT, Pan Am Sat and Lockheed Martin, Teleglobe has become a market leader in satellite-based IP services. Now beaming IP over satellite to customers in more than 85 countries, Teleglobe has pioneered new, improved ways of using satellite, including asymmetric links, 16-phase modulation, and Digital Video Broadcast over IP (DVB/IP).

Teleglobe operates 3 earth stations for AOR and POR access:
  • Des Laurentides (Weir, Quebec)
  • Lake Cowichan (Vancouver, B.C.)
  • Pennant Point (Halifax, NS)

Teleglobe also uses teleport services for IOR access from:

  • Denmark (TeleDenmark Blaavand and Herstedvester earth stations)
  • Germany (IABG in Weilheim, near Munich)
