Founded in 1952 by H. Heward Stikeman and R. Fraser Elliott, karsh.jpgStikeman Elliott LLP has has grown quickly and successfully to its stature today as a leading Canadian business law firm with an unmatched international outlook.

From two lawyers in 1952, we now number more than 400; and from one small office on Montreal's St. James Street, we now work out of nine offices in major financial and business centres across Canada and around the world. From an early focus primarily on taxation and corporate advice, we now offer a full range of business legal services.

What has not changed over the years is a belief in the values that Heward Stikeman and Fraser Elliott set for the firm in those early days. We believe in providing our clients with the highest quality solutions to their legal concerns. We pride ourselves on providing advice that is responsive, innovative, and workable in the real world.

Beyond that, though, there are specific values the firm has stressed from our beginning. We believe in individual initiative that supports our shared goal of excellence in business law in Canada and internationally. We believe in a diverse, (Desmarais) democratic partnership. Most important, we believe in the spirit of adventure that built our firm and continues to shape its future.
